Potential Unreliability of ALK Variant Allele Frequency in the Efficacy Prediction of Targeted Therapy in NSCLC
 Researchers at the National Cancer Center, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College in Beijing have discovered that the variant allele frequency (VAF) of ALK fusions may not reliably predict the efficacy of targeted therapies in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study, published in Frontiers of Medicine, highlights the challenges in using VAF as a biomarker for treatment outcomes in ALK-positive NSCLC patients.
